The Mendoza’s fall family portrait session in Goddard Park was not only freezing, it was amazing! The little ones did a great job, which allowed this session to move quickly so we could all get back into our warm cars. Although it was cold, the two little boys gave me such genuine smiles and attention; and I took my time getting their little girl to give me some great smiles. I’ve said this before in another blog post, and I’ll say it again: I’ve learned that in order for you to get genuine interaction from a child, you need to give them 100% of you. You need to be attentive to their needs, thoughts, wants, and the little things; after all, they probably just met you and you’re asking them to look at your camera and smile. You will be rewarded greatly for this little extra attention, because they will learn to trust you.
We choose Goddard Park because it has tons of places to use and some of the best fall foliage Rhode Island has to offer. Goddard Park is also central to all Rhode Islanders and not far from Interstate 95, so it’s easy to get to.
Tammy and her husband did a great job selecting and matching everyone’s outfit; the blues and grays are complemented by the reds, oranges, and greens in the background. This is an important factor when looking to book a portrait session. You don’t want to completely match colors; instead, you’ll want to coordinate them. When working with you, I can provide suggestions and recommendations that will help bring out your family’s best in your portrait session.
